Wallpaper has started to roll back into fashion over the past few years. Hanging wallpaper can instantly change the overall look of a room, is reasonably easy to install and is available in multiple designs, most budgets, styles and looks can easily be accommodated.

Trending Designs

The current trend for wallpaper is maximalist. Maximalist is a scenic wall mural and are more popular than standard repetitive patterns.

The most popular choices for a feature wall are botanical designs that bring in a tropical vibe and bold concrete prints which mix different colours with grey especially the pairing of yellow’s and greys.

In my experience customer are opting for dramatic prints in a small area and for subtle wallpaper designs for a larger area.

If it is a vintage look you are trying to achieve, then choose designs that have a throwback quality.

Customers are embracing wallpaper designs that are inspired by India's rich cultural heritage and the classical art deco style to bring in a slice of history into their homes.

Latest Materials

Wallpaper technology has really advanced and pushed boundaries over the last 10 years. Nowadays the same wallpaper design can be printed on fabric as well as in a matte, gloss and a textured wallpaper.

Acoustic Wallpaper

Recently wallpapers have advanced a step further and are now available as acoustic varieties that provide good sound insulation in areas like home theatre and home office.

Also, a recent innovation is the application of a wallpaper coating which possesses air purifying qualities. Nano particles of silver are present in the coating which causes the ionisation and purification of the surrounding air.

Application Trends

The layering of wallpaper is an interesting trend in which the first layer is formed with wallpaper on the wall and the second layer includes the installation of art work or a framed painting in matching or contrast colours. Some international brands have come up with matching furniture in which the upholstery matches with design of the wallpaper or the wallpaper design can be printed on the wooden panels of the furniture which is finished with a resin coating.

Another important trend is the installation of wet system wallpaper which can replace tiles in the shower area of the bathroom and can even be used on the building facade.

3D Wallpaper Designs

I my opinion the best and most exciting type of wallpapers have been left until last. If you really want to add massive drama and real interest to a room, I would really seriously consider using a well-designed 3D wallpaper. Have a look at just a few of these fantastic designs below.

Are You Thinking of Selling your House?

The No. 1 Decorating Job that can add 25% to the value of your property

When you start thinking of how you can add value to your home, the usual ideas spring to mind. Projects such as -

An Extension

Garage Conversion

New Kitchen or Bathroom.

Now these are all “big” projects to undertake and take a lot of time, energy, planning and the most importantly MONEY!!

However I think you might be surprised to find out you can get a lot more “BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS”

Dulux have some good news if your budget won’t stretch to costly transformations. A straightforward paint job could be all you need to impress potential buyers.

According to new research from Dulux, a fresh coat of paint could increase a home’s perceived value by nearly a quarter, since almost a third of Brits expect to pay 25 per cent more for a freshly painted home.

Painting your exterior walls or front door isn’t just about keeping up with the Joneses any more.

Social media plays a big part, with 2.6 million Brits admitting they post photos of house exteriors to their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts at least once a month.

That perhaps explains why an Instagrammable exterior is so crucial to potential buyers, and the fact that 93 per cent of Brits are more likely to attend a viewing if the exterior of the house is well maintained.

A jungle of a garden and windows are among our top bugbears, but what irritates us the most is a drab front door.

Not only that, research reveals we will take an average of 10 seconds to make a judgement on a person having seen the colour of their front door. 10 Seconds?

So while you may spend months debating what colour to paint the living room, or whether to redecorate your bedroom,

it might be time to give your outside walls and doors more thought.

When is the last time you painted the house?

Despite the big difference painting the exterior can make, most Brits haven’t refreshed the exterior of their house in more than eight years, while one in five admit it’s been more than 15 years.

Most proffesional Decorators recommend re-decorating exteriors between 3 and 5 years as it is the most cost effective way to look after the outside of a property.

Hiring a Painter and Decorator to do the job for you will set you back anywhere between £1000 and £5,500, depending on the size of your home, the condition of the property and the number of storeys that it has.

What Colour add the most £££ ?

Embracing Blue apparently adds an average of £4,000.

Shortly behind blue is white, which adds roughly £3,400 to the value of a house.

Red comes in third, adding £1,800.

So if you’ve always dreamed of a pink front door or a freshly white-painted exterior, now’s the time to give your home a facelift.

Benefits of Re-Spraying your Kitchen

Normally a Kitchen layout works, it just needs the “look” updated

Re-Spraying a kitchen is a lot less expense than a replacement kitchen

It is quicker than installing a whole new kitchen

You can continue to use your kitchen (minus the doors etc)

There is no need to disconnect any supply’s such as gas, electricity, or water

Much less disruption to you and your family

Colours and Finishes

We use a highly durable paints, which is fully washable and is available in a variety of sheen levels from Matt through to Gloss.

We have a complete range of the markets leading colours including the very popular Heritage and National Trust colour palette’s are all available from including but not restricted to Farrow and Ball, Little Greene, Dulux, Anker Stuy, Caparol and Hesse Lingal.

How Our Process Works

DAY ONE - We collect all of the removal parts from your kitchen, such as doors, draws, pelmets etc and these are resprayed to a blemish free finish in our local workshop. We then tape and mask up all the areas in your kitchen that need painting as required.

DAY TWO - The kitchen carcasses are painted with a water-based Adhesion Primer, followed by two Topcoats in your chosen colour and finish. As standard we paint the edge of the carcases, however for an extra cost we can paint the inside of kitchen units.

DAY THREE & FOUR – The kitchen doors etc are prepared, filled and de-greased ready for the first coat of Adhesion Primer. One more coat of Adhesion Primer followed by two Topcoats.

DAY FIVE - Your removed items are refitted on site, this is a good time to replace door handles and knobs etc. Your kitchen is then fully completed. The turnaround time is usually one week, from start to finish.

Most of the kitchen resprays we work on are priced between £1000.00 and £2000.00. Most of the kitchen resprays we work on are priced between £1000.00 and £2000.00.

How much does it cost to spray paint kitchen cabinets?

If you allow approximately £80.00 per cabinet you should be able to calculate a rough price for your project.

Most of the kitchen resprays we work on are priced between £1000.00 and £2000.00. That is far less than the cost of a new kitchen and the finish will last more than 10-years.

Our Pricing (for budgeting purposes only)

£90.00 per Cabinet (Door only)

£120.00 per larder and pantry cabinet (Door only)

£90.00 per built-in kitchen appliance facing

The above costs are for budget purposes only, a full on site survey would need to be carried out for us to provide a Quotation (we don’t provide estimates)

As I am sure you can appreciate all projects different therefore our quotes are bespoke to each individual customer.

Because the cost to spray paint kitchen cabinets is 50 to 70% less expensive than a new replacement, spraying is a good way to save money and create a kitchen that looks completely different,

I’d bet your friends wouldn’t even notice it was your old kitchen sprayed?

Don’t Stop at your Kitchen Units we can also transform.

How much do Decorators charge to hang wallpaper?

This very much depends on the area and what room is being wallpapered. For example a Kitchen or Cloakroom can be a lot more awkward and tricky than standard box room.

To hang a Feature wallpaper would cost approximately £95.00 to £150.00 Labour Only

Another factors to consider is the type of wallpaper to be hung for example is it standard vinyl, wide vinyl etc. also does existing wallpaper need to be removed and the wall prepared before hanging the wallpaper.

Some Decorators may charge to hang wallpaper per roll which on average can be approximately £25.00 to £40.00 a roll, however this can increase to £35.00 to £70.00 If it's a mural or a paper that requires more time ie- extra wide paper, Wilkinson’s or Laura Ashley and so on.
